Columbus, Georgia- Patricia D. Jasper, resident of New York, New York, formally of Columbus, Ga., passed away July 23, 2012 in her home in New York. Memorial service will be held September 27th at 9:30am at Christ The King Catholic Church in Pine Mountain, Ga. Father John R. Madden will officiate the mass. Following at 11:00am there will be a graveside service at Parkhill Cemetery.
Patricia was born February 8, 1940 at Ft. Benning. She is daughter of the late, Adelyn and Retired Capt. Julius Jasper. She attended Baker High School, graduating in 1959. She had been a finalist in the 1959 Miss Columbus Pageant. She continued assisting contestants in future pageants. She also performed in several early Springer productions, and productions at Sand Hill (Ft. Benning). She had been a resident of New York for over forty years, retiring from USA Today. She attended Hunters College in New York for Business. She was an active member of Saint Monica's Catholic Church.
Survivors include a sister, Paula Jasper Campbell, of Columbus, Ga., brothers J. Paul Jasper, of Scottsdale, Arizona, David C. Jasper, of Hamilton, Ga., and James W. Quinlan, of Austin, Texas. Also included are host of nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.
Family members with to invite to the memorial, old friends who knew Pat during her residency in Columbus.
