Hamilton, GA- Otis B. Gunn, 83, of Hamilton, GA. died Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2012 in Parkhill Cemetery, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Gunn was born in Junction City, GA, on October 9, 1928 to the late Elijah L. Gunn and Ella Mae Jones Gunn. He was a resident of Hamilton, GA. for the past 20 years and was a member of Mountain Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Gunn was a former resident of Columbus for 42 years and a 1948 graduate of Baker High School and a graduate from Columbus College where he received his Associates Degree. He retired as a Major with the Columbus Police Department with over 38 years of service. He was a member of the Georgia Peace officers Association and the Fraternal Order of Police. Mr. Gunn was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict
Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years wife Sarah June Mann Gunn of Hamilton, GA and daughter, Shirley Gunn Hinckley of Hamilton, GA. and numerous cousins.
