Jeralene H. Broadwell, 85, of Tampa, Florida, passed away on May 5, 2017. She was born on September 24, 1931 in Columbus, Georgia, to Harry and Braddis Harden. She was a life-long resident of Columbus and attended Baker High School.

In 1950, she married Louie Gaines Broadwell. They had two children, Charles Broadwell and Patricia Reynolds-Kohrs. She was proud to be a wife and mother, always engaged with church, PTA, Scouts and later volunteering with Meals on Wheels and the First Baptist Church Food Closet. She remained close to her childhood friends having lunch or dinner with them every week. She imparted the values of friendship, loyalty, respect and love to her children and to her only grandchild, who was the light of her life. She was a true Southern woman, proud of her family and heritage. She was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Braddis Harden, her husband Louie G. Broadwell and her brother Mike Harden, all of Columbus, Georgia. 
She is survived by her son Charles H. Broadwell (Susan) of Tampa, Florida, her daughter Patricia L. Reynolds-Kohrs (Richard) of Tampa, Florida and one granddaughter Kara Lyn Broadwell, Tampa, Florida. She is also survived by her sister Pat White (Donald), Lake Charles, Louisiana and a sister-in law, Jane Harden, Columbus, Georgia. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 17, 2017, 1:00 pm , Porter Chapel, First Baptist Church, Columbus, Georgia with Dr. James Elder officiating. Memorial gifts may be made to First Baptist Church, First Baptist Food Closet or the Columbus Symphony Orchestra.
