I was so saddened to learn of Ms. Coan's passing although it was not unexpected. I took World History from Ms. Coan in '68-'69 and fell in love with the subject. In fact, I changed my planned major of Nursing to Secondary Education with a major in World History. Her teaching and subject matter made a distinct impression on me and helped to change my life. She was a wonderful teacher and mentor.

Mrs. Coan was one of the most interesting teachers I had at BHS. I'll never forget her!Danny Williams (1975)
