Served in Korean Conflict, Graduated from Georgia Southwestern with an Associate degree, then to UGA with a BBA in 1960, member of Theta Chi Fraternity. Married Carolyn Fraker of Dalton, GA in 1956. Worked since college in the carpet industry. Three children:Thomas W. Farmer, Jr. (1958), Julie Elizabeth Kirk (1959) and Lauri Caroline Britton(1960) "Tommy" had one granddaughter, Caroline Elizabeth Kirk at the time of his death on May 16, 1993.
