Kerrville, TX- Joseph E. Hicks, 72, of Kerrville, TX passed away on October 7, 2013. He was born in Columbus, GA to Louis and Georgia Hicks on February 2, 1941. He married Sharron Hicks on May 17, 1985 in Pearland, TX.
He attended Baker High School in Columbus, GA. He was employed by Kerrville ISD and was a talented free lance artist. He was a veteran of the Army.
Joe is preceded in death by Louis and Georgia Hicks, brothers, Billy and Charles Hicks and daughter, Joel Gallanger.
Joe is survived by his wife, Sharron Hicks; son, Gordon Hicks and fiancé, Becky Oakley; son, Brian Mayfield; daughter, Elaine and Jason McMurray; grandsons, Wess Hicks and Winter McMurray; granddaughters, Summer Hicks and Grace Mayfield and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Kerrville and Columbus, GA.
Memorials may be given to the local food bank or the Salvation Army food bank.
