Jane V. Harden, 85, of Columbus, GA, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2021. A service to celebrate Mrs. Harden’s life will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 6, 2021 in the Edgewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA. Dr. Kevin Calhoun and Reverend Steve Scarborough will be officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Harden was born July 19, 1935 in Columbus, GA, daughter of the late John Rufus and Louise Mae Terrell Vance. She attended public school in Columbus and graduated from Baker High School. Mrs. Harden kept in touch with many of her friends from Baker through a group she help form, the “Baker Girls”. She worked and retired after many years of service as a Lab and X-ray Technician for Doctor’s Connor, Conn and Brocato. Mrs. Harden loved to sew, be outdoors gardening and tending to her roses. She also loved being with her family. Mrs. Harden was a faithful follower of Jesus and a member of Wynnbrook Baptist Church where she was instrumental in creating the Heart Shape Pillow Ministry. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Harden was preceded in death by her sweetheart of 49 years, Michael H. Harden and one brother. Survivors include her three children, Harry M. Harden and his wife, Melody, Delores H. Scarborough and her husband, Steve, and Tracy Tom and her husband, James; eight grandchildren, Melissa Moeller, Patricia Mazur, Catherine Helms, Jonathan Scarborough, David Scarborough, Elizabeth Scarborough, Seth Scarborough and Paul Tom; nine great grandchildren.
