JOHNNY WAS ONE OF MY DEAREST FRIENDS. WE DOUBLED DATED THROUGH OUT MOST OF HIGH SCHOOL AND KEPT IN CONTACT THROUGH OUT YEARS. WE TALKED MANY TIMES WHILE HE WAS FIGHTING HIS CANCER. WE TALKED ABOUT HIGH SCHOOL AND ALL THE FUN WE HAD. WHEN HE TOLD ME HOW SICK HE WAS I ASK HIM ABOUT HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS. HE ASSSURED ME THAT HE WAS SAVED AND HAD A STRONG RELATIONSHIP WITH THE LORD. IT WAS IN KNOWING THAT, THAT I COULD REJOICE IN HIS HOMEGOING KNOWING THAT ONE DAY I WOULD SPEND ETERNITY WITH HIM.
JOHNNY LOVED HIS FAMILY SOOOOO MUCH. HE TOLD ME HE HAD MADE MANY MISTAKES IN THE EARLY YEARS OF HIS MARRIAGE TO FAYE BUT THAT FAYE AND GOD HAD FORGIVEN HIM AND BLESSED THEM WITH TWO WONDERFUL DAUGHTERS THAT BROUGHT SO MUCH HAPPINESS INTO THEIR LIVES.
MY PRAYER IS THAT FAYE AND THE GIRLS WILL GO ON AND FIND MUCH JOY IN THEIR MEMORIES OF JOHNNY . HE WAS ONE OF A KIND AND I WAS BLESSED TO CALL HIM MY FRIEND.

LOVE FOREVER,

BETTY MCBRIDE ELLIS

I grew up in the same neighbour-hood with john.  We drifted apart some as we grew older but I always considered John a friend.  I will miss him
