Darrell “Skip” Curtis Lassiter, Sr., 74, of Columbus, GA passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, November 15, 2021 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907, with Dr. Jimmy Elder and Dr. Danny Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery following the service.

Skip was born September 19, 1947 in Columbus, GA, son of the late Dock Curtis Lassiter and Evelyn Thompson Lindsey. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the Marine Corps and fought in the Vietnam War. After leaving the Marine Corps, he was the Sales Manager for Columbus Paper Company and Valley Fruit and Produce. He then spent 30 years in the car business with Auto Advance Motors and Lewis Auto Sales.

Skip enjoyed hunting and fishing, he was an avid college football fan and loved watching all of his grandchildren play all types of sports. He spent time researching all of the family genealogy. He loved spending time with all of his family and friends.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, David Lindsey and Brett Lindsey.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Linda Dawkins Lassiter; children, Paige Lassiter Karastury (Paul Karastury) of Columbus, GA, Skip Lassiter, Jr. (Missy) of Midland, GA, Chris Lassiter (Lauren) of Memphis, TN; grandchildren, Bryan Lassiter (Morgan) of Dallas, GA, Hunter Adams of Columbus, GA, Cole Lassiter of Columbus, GA, Lacey Lassiter of Memphis, TN, Wyatt Lassiter of Memphis, TN; J.T. Green and Michael Green of Columbus, GA; numerous other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews; siblings, Beverly Snead (Jimmy) of Midland, GA, Mike Lassiter (Jan) of Fortson, GA, and Robin Stine (David) of Canton, GA.
