Columbus, GA- Donna Sue Mitchell, 64 of Columbus died Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Martin Army Community Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Friday, July 29, 2011 at Eastwood Baptist Church, 5051 Buena Vista Road, Columbus, GA with Rev. Michael Heath officiating. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5 till 7 P.M. at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, Ga.
Mrs. Mitchell was born October 6, 1946 in Nashville, AR daughter of the late Virginia Ernestine McCommon Alford and Donovan L. Alford. She was a 1965 Graduate of Baker High School. She was the Ministry Assistant at Eastwood Baptist Church. She was also part of the Eastway Elementary School PTA, Cub Scout Pack 53 and Boy Scout Troup 53 where both sons became Eagle Scouts.
Survivors include her husband Thomas Nelson Mitchell, Jr of Columbus, GA; sons, Robert Nelson Mitchell and Donovan James Mitchell (Margie) all of Columbus, GA; brother, Charles Robert Alford (Chris) of Box Springs, GA; sister, Martha Elizabeth Roelkey (Allen) of Talbotton, GA and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to Eastwood Baptist Church Building Fund, 5051 Buena Vista Road, Columbus, GA 31907.
