Brenda Dianne Blair (Royster) - Class Of 1961

Brenda B. Royster, 68, of Columbus died August 15, 2012, at her home with her family at her side.

Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907 Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 1:00 PM with Dr. Tom Neville of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and Chaplain Lauren Penny officiating. Burial will follow in Parkhill Cemetery, Columbus, Georgia. The family will receive friends Friday, August 17, 2012 evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Royster was born September 12, 1943, in Carrollton, Georgia, daughter of the late Hewlette M. Blair and Grace Sears Blair. She graduated from Baker High School and worked as a Legal Assistant in the Office of Charles M. Evert for 25 years. Mrs. Royster was Baptist by faith and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother to her family and friend to many others.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Marvin Blair, and her sister, Theresa Hardy.

Mrs. Royster is survived by her husband, Woodrow (Woody) G. Royster, of over 50 years, a brother, Rodney O. Blair, Stamford, Texas, two daughters, Andra R. Caldwell (Marc) and Monica R. Pierce (Keith), all of Columbus, four grandchildren, Alex Pierce Stevenson (Shane), Tori Pierce, and Taylor and Hunter Caldwell and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Yolanda Edwards, Grace Lashley, RN, Jennifer Fedler, Cathy Covington, Falana Tatum and Maxine Wilson, who all helped us travel this road with great care and kindness; and to all of Columbus Hospice, you were a blessing.
