Richard D. Pearce Sr., 74, of Midland Georgia died Sunday February 22, 2009 at Saint Francis Hospital. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday February 26, 2009 at Mt. Moriah Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 1129 Double Churches Road Columbus, Georgia 31904 Êwith Rev. Ralph Horne officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at McMullen Funeral HomeÊ3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, Georgia 31907. Mr. Pearce was born March 22, 1934 in Columbus Georgia son of the late Mitchell D. and Ruth Rodgers Pearce. He was the manager of Snow White Cleaners for 34 years. He was a graduate of Baker High School in 1952, and attended Mercer University. Other than his parents Mr. Pearce is preceded in death by a son Richard D.Ê "Rick" Pearce. Survivors include his wife Etta V. Pearce of Midland Georgia; one son, Derrick S. Pearce of Midland Georgia; one sister, Julia Ann Pearce Slavey (James) of Alexandria, Virginia; daughter-in-law Diana Davis Pearce; two grandchildren, Michael D. Pearce and Jennifer Anne Pearce all of Plum Branch South Carolina, and one nephew Jimmy Slavey (Donna) of Alexandria, Virginia.
