Comments:

I married in 1961 before I graduated which was a big mistake other than having my son, Allen. His father and I divorced when he was three months old. I remarried in 1968, we had a son, Tyler, divorced in 1983, and after that divorce I decided to just stop getting married before I hit strike three. lol

In the late seventies and early eighties I was heavily involved in music as a songwriter/singer. Served on the Board of Directors in the composer catagory for two years, wrote and recorded a song called, "The Hardest Part of All" that reached number 13 on Pop Picks of the Week in Nashville City News and was scheduled to go to Europe to promote my record. My husband at the time, stuntman Jim Burk, gave me an ultimatum, "marriage and family, or music". I chose marriage and family because I had my son's...they did not have me...and I could not imagine leaving them for six months to promote a record. My decision did not save my marriage and we divorced in 1983. I opened a Day Care Business in my home and raised my youngest son, Tyler, as a "single mom". In 1987 I was offered a job as a DJ/Lounge Singer in local Clubs. When Karaoke got popular I added Karaoke Host to my list and had the time of my life!! I retired due to an injury in 2005 after seventeen years of "working" at something I loved to do and meeting some of the most interesting, talented, and beautiful people in the world. I now live in Vancouver Washington near my youngest son and three beautiful grand kids. Life is good and I love it up here, it's beautiful...but my heart never left Georgia...and it never will.

School Story:

Uh Oh...not a good one I'm afraid. Mr. Boyle gave me some good advice that didn't kick in until many years later. I loved going to Baker and I adored my friends there but life at home was very challenging and it affected my grades as well as my desire to go to school. I fell madly in love, at the age of twelve, with my best friend's brother. We became "high school sweetheart's" and planned to marry as soon as I turned eighteen but my mother did not like him and it caused problems in our relationship. He did not wait for me to turn eighteen...he married another girl at Baker and like "they" say, the rest is history. Life over the years has blown me all over the world but my heart has never left Georgia!

I started school at Baker in the first grade when I was five years old. As mother encouraged me to walk up these steps for the first time I clung to her hand so tight I'm surprised I didn't pull it off her wrist! Though my memory is in need of repair these days I have never forgotten my first day at Baker High School!
