Being a military dependant,left Baker in 9th grade for North Carolina, then on to Pirmasans, Germany,graduating from Kaiserslautern American H.S. in 1965. I met my future husband in Pirmasans, married in Erlanger, Ky, 1966. Our daughter, Helen was born in Covinton, Ky. Moved to Smyna, Ga 1968. Our son, Dean was born there. Moved to Columbus, Ga 1969, back to Oakland Park, the old neighborhood, still there. I worked at Sears, Ranger Joes and helped my dad run the Go Kart Track on Victory Drive till we HAD to close , 1998, when the city wanted to build something on the property to go along with the River Walk.( That never happened) I helped take care of Josh and still helping take care of Tyler after school and summers. Shearl, my husband, had major surgery (5 years ago come March) for a ruptured colon, 5 weeks in the hospital,17 days in CCU. His health had gone down hill ever since. He is in a wheelchair and on oxygen full time, I am his caregiver full time. We have had the pleasure of taking care of Nathan and Maddie who live in Lizella, Ga, when the parents had to be out of town at the same time due to work. Now that Nathan is is school, I have gone over there to help out. When I go there, Shearl's 85 year old mother comes and stays with him. She only lives next door so it works out good ,especially with her in good health. As of today,1-25-09 that kind of bring you up to date in an abreviated way. I will add on later news.
