I'll miss Joe Durham. He was a guy who worked hard and played harder. I had the pleasure of being his mother's next door neighbor for many years where I would see Joe and his wife Brenda and their son Dalton who played with my daughter for hours at a time. Joe and Brenda were made for each other and they made a perfect son. Joe and I would sit around and drink a beer sometimes and talk about the old days when we were at Baker. Brenda, Dalton and Joyce, we think about you often and hope life will be little kinder to you from now on.
I miss Joe too, he used to pick up a bunch of guys, and then come by and honk the horn and pick me up too----to go and play sandlot crunch football at Rigdon Park, in his Dad's old pickup truck. Those were some of the best days of my life!
Our own motorcross champion of the world! I can close my eyes and see him jumping our trucks parked end to end off the top of the dunes. Ride a wheelie, standing on the seat, shooting peace signs, till the back tire burned off! He would back me up anywhere, anytime, all I had to do was call. Oohhh, and his politics! I miss ya Joe.
