David and I got arrested on Ft. Benning one night for trespassing and having beer in the car. (you know....the V.W.) He was just going to school in preparation to become an officer in the Army. I had just gotten out of the Navy. It was the only time I ever saw David without that goofy grin on his face. But he was a very smart guy and a great father to his lovely daughter, Courtney. He was one person everyone could not help but like.

I knew David from pre-school years. David had location, location, location. He lived on a corner lot, with a wooden privacy fence, a ditch (in the early years) with a nice slope, a streetlight and an empty lot at the end of the street.

We never went down his drive way. No, we climbed up his fence and down the tree on the other side. We practiced getting shot and rolling down the hill in true cowboy fashion. We crawled under the street in his ditch. We stayed out late under his street light. Played football in the empty lot.

As we got older, we went separate ways. We did play on the same little league team one year. After that, we mostly saw each other just in passing.

We had some good times when we were young.

David Braddock was a night Owl , slept all day and  stayed up all night. We spent many a days together growing up and playing baseball and numerous other activities. He is missed and we who knew him are truly lucky to have had the pleasure.
