December 11, 2023
Dear Lions & Lioness:
We had another great luncheon with 80 in attendance. I forgot to ask how many first timers but, I know that there were at least 2. The last Lions to leave was at two PM. Lots and lots of reminiscing. We had some that have not been in at least 15 years and he and his wife drove from Myrtle Beach, SC. Jet Nixon BHS’60. Several others drove long distances as from Florida, central AL., central, northern and east GA. On a regular basis to the luncheons. We had Jimmy Shierling from the class of 1953 and the youngest was Sandra (Duncan) Jenkins class of 1976
Many THANKS to David Phillips, ‘76 for videoing the entire luncheon so we can place it on You Tube and we can send the site to all others Lions that could not attend and lives far away as Hawaii, Puerto Rico and through out the United States.
Our next luncheon is March 18, 2024. Please mark on your calendar. We were so fortunate that only four Lions had passed away this time. We have lost so many Lions in the past 19 years that, Sandye and I have been doing these luncheons. In attendance were two of the originals who started the luncheons, Ron Freeman 1958 and Paul Holmes 1959. We thought of those who started that are no longer with us but, are looking down smiling at us. I don’t know how much longer we can keep this up but BHS, according to our old coach Bubba Ball, said that, Baker will die when the last Lion dies. The BHS spirit is strong and well. Perhaps we can get the news media to visit us on our next luncheon in March. I don't think that there is no other school that does what we do.
If you have any pictures that you would want on the BHS site please send them to Cathy (Cameron) Bowden ’72 at baker.lions.pride@gmail.com. The site for the luncheon video is :

Sandye and I wish to THANK you all for the support of all of our
luncheons and to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Thanks,
Sandye (Johnson) '64 and Ismael (Ish) Nazario ‘61
