June 17, 2023 Luncheon
Dear Lions and Lioness:
The get together at Cook's on Saturday night was lots of fun with only about 100 present. We had storm warnings and most likely the reason we did not have anymore. A great job by the BHS Alumni Association, Jim Davis, President and Cathy Cameron Bowden, Emilia Butts Chitum and others.
At the luncheon we had 65 to 70 folks in attendance. It was very lively as usual. We had a few that drove long distance even though we had storm warnings and most likely because of the storm warnings kept others from coming.
There was a sad feeling among some of the older Lions as driving far from out of Columbus or anywhere is getting more difficult as we age. I can agree with that, when I drive to KY and IN to visit family and friends. It was also sad for me to not see some of our regular that attended the lunches on a regular basis that are no longer with us. I know that they are in heaven looking down at us and laughing at us with Mr. Boyles and other teachers.
We left the luncheon at 2:00 PM and there still some Lions there visiting each other. The youngest was from the class of 1983 and the most senior was from the class of 1948. All were surprised that we had lost 17 Lions since March luncheon that we know of. We just don't know when our time is coming up. We just love and appreciate the camaraderie that we Lions share.

Our next luncheon will be Monday September 18, 2023. Please mark it on your calendar. Lets make every effort to have 90 in attendance. Lets take advantage of what time we have on this GODS great earth. May the good LORD bless all of us and the UNITED STATES of AMERICA. Thanks.
