Sept 19, 2011 Luncheon

Dear Lion & Lioness:

It is hard to begin to describe the fantastic time; that the Baker High School family has when it gets together at our quarterly luncheons.  We did not have the attendance that we had in June.  We had 128 present.  The Baker spirit was alive and well.  We had 15 first timers.  We had folks from Goshen , Indiana , Chattanooga , TN , Atlanta area, Florida , South Georgia, North AL and probably other places that I have failed to mention.  We did not have our speaker system so for the agenda so we just recognized the first timers and sang the Alma Mater.  The last folks to leave the Golden Corral, was after 4:00 PM.  Many folks including myself, saw classmates that have not seen in many years.  One thing that I seen while singing the Alma Mater and was touched by, was, that while standing on top of a chair, I noticed a Golden Corral worker in the dessert area and a waitress in our area, singing the Alma Mater with us as they too were Baker High graduates.  Present were classes from 1945 to 1981 and the respect and spirit was present.  I hope to have the videos and pictures that we took on the website soon.  Special “THANKS” to all that helped with this luncheon in one way or another, but “THANKS” to you, fellow classmates for getting the word to others.  It is this team concept, why the Baker High luncheons are a success.  Please write down in your calendar. December 12, 2011.  We hope to have a very large turn out for this last luncheon in 2011.  Sandye and I are so proud to part of the Baker High School family.  Mr. Oscar P. Boyles, Principal, said it best,  “That as long as there is breath on any Baker person, the school and spirit will always live. May God bless us all.
