Hello Bakerville!

Hope everyone is doing well!

I'm doing pretty good considering a bunch of old folks stuff but I'll take it.

Dang...we've almost let it get too hot for a parking lot party! We sure need a get together though!

Everyone take care!

Pat

Heeeeyyy all.

Pat I know how you feel. The not quite as old as you stuff ain't no fun either.

Spent a little time with Gary Parmer this week, good times ,no music just sittin around B.S.'n.

So what is the problem with a get together, nobody knows when Harry will be in town? All we have to do  is ask Chelzie.

Of course it could be my hearing and it's wine, beer or heaven forbid just the food.

For this Lion....I'm in a sewing mood.... have the sewing machine out making pillow covers .... and crafty mood also... making earrings and I'm sure something else will come to mind.... Looking forward to hearing from ya'll!

Hello Bakerville!

Rodney...Thanks for asking! Carter is enjoying his summer so far. He is going to a summer camp his special ed teacher is doing. It focuses on academic & life skills. Today was big...he learned to tie his shoes. It is such an accomplishment & he is so proud! He will be 10 in 2 weeks.

Those of you with Special needs children in your life understand these achievements that most take for granted are really big deals for us.

Thank you for letting this proud Nana brag about her Cub for a minute!

Love my Baker family!

Pat

Rodney I am so very sorry we did not get to see you. We got lost trying to get across Columbus. Wow only go back 2-3 times in 45 years and things sure look different. When we left Cook's to go home-----you guessed it we got lost going back across Columbus. Did I mention Faye was driving both times. Next time we will bring the GPS.

Sunshine I enjoyed the afternoon talking with you and Ms. Dianne. So good to see old friends and talk about old times. I sure enjoyed the scrambled dog.

You guys take care and "May God Bless".

went and saw John Anderson last night...it was all i was hoping for and more...

the guy played an hour and 45 minutes and only did one tune that he did not write...amazing writer and one of the most distinctive voices in the business...one of the best shows i have seen in a while...

400!!

Thats how many members we now have in the Baker High School Alumni Association!!!

That is just AWESOME!!

Many thanks to all those who have worked so hard the last couple of months to make this happen...

If you are not one of the 400 and would like to help the Alumni Association in their efforts to continue awarding Scholarships every year and our continuing efforts to assist our community by helping make a difference, just contact any Alumni Association member and we will ge glad to assist you.  But, the easiest way to become a member is just go to the Home page on this website and look at the left hand column and go to the Alumni Association tab...very simple and we would love to have you become a member.

As you may have seen on the Home Page, 7 Scholarships were awarded by the Alumni Association.  I look forward to this time every year cause it is just so cool to be able to help Alumni, their children and even their grandchildren.  I have been on the committee a few times over the years that have sat and evaluated the applicants, and let me tell you, thats one of the hardest things i have ever done.  They are all just so impressive.  Its just so hard to narrow them down.  I am so glad we have a group of teachers now, who have volunteered their time to evaluate the applicants for us.

Hats off to Emillia for being the Committee Chair and spearheading the Scholarship Committee.  Great work Emillia.  Thank you and your committee.

The Alumni Association is doing great things and we will continue our tradition of awarding scholarships every year along with our community involvement projects throughout the rest of the year.

We will be assisting Baker Middle School, our PIE (Partner In Education) School with some of their needs in the very near future.  Thanks to Jackie Benedict for leading the way as our Laision with the Administration at Baker Middle School.

The Alumni Association Board of Directors is a great group of folks and I am very proud to be a part of this wonderful group of people.

Thank you Rodney, you sure have a way with words. I would like to thank Sharon Duke Hallowes, Class of 63, and Nancy McDaniel Moore, Class of 66, for taking the time to review and select our winners. They both were so impressed with all that applied, wishing they could have everyone of them win. Thank you to the board to letting us give out 7 scholarships, instead of just 5. I hope that all who reads this will encourge others to join the alumni association, so we can continue to give more scholarships in the future.
