I am fine Pat ,thanks for asking.

Are you still seeing those dangerous deer in your yard.Won"t be long I can come up there and take out the bad ones with the big horns.(Just trying to help)

The Dr. said I would not regain the brain cells I destroyed in my misspent youth, and many more lost  from the alcohol cosumption after said youth . But, if Denise will stop smacking me upside the head I may not lose so many more so fast.

Has anyone heard from Mr. Dansereau? Still enjoying wedded bliss I guess.

Henry ,How was the train ride?

Chelzie,HEEEEYYYYY.

Harry ,You taking care of Pam?

Marion , I sure hope you and Martha and everyone else in the south  are ok.

Rodney I am glad you asked about the brown paper bags,

Paper or plastic?

First of all I hate to go grocery shopping and being asked difficult questions.I mean after squeezing melons ,maters,Peanut butter smooth or crunchy.Charmin or scotts.Cash or credit.

Remember when you would go with mom to the Commissary we used to use milk boxes to put groceries in,worked at the annex on Custer Terrace bagging groceries.

Doesn't seem like you   get as much in plastic bags.

Plastic is not as environmentally friendly.

Paper comes from trees.I learned that at South Columbus Elem.Miss Lusty got bit by a Fiddle Back spider when I was in the 6th. grade.Did I mention I went to South Columbus.

Rodney did you ever find out about the brown paper bags?

The Dr. said if I take my meds, and Denise quits hitting me upside the head I should be ok,not better, just ok.

Has anybody heard from Mike Dansereau?

Oh sometimes people would want you to double bag,a girl told me once I could come home with her if I put a bag over my head.I didn't go because ,well mamma always said don't talk to strangers.

Oh speaking of Gary Parmer, why don't we get together some Sunday evening at Picassos when he is playing.

Good evening Bakerville.

I hope all that had weather from Hermine are safe and no major damage.  Last week while I was at the beach Hermine was a tropical depression but she had the Atlantic Ocean churning it was too  dangerous to go in the water, then this week she decided that I had not had enough of her so she came over my neck of the woods. We had a litle bit of damage at the home front lots of limbs down and two trees were knocked down. The worst thing  is that half of a pecan tree fell on Gemel's car so now I am dealing with the insurance co to get it fixed. I did get a nice call from the adjuster today he told me do to the high volume of dameage to homes and buildings that I can take the car to the body shop of my choice, no estaments needed, and have them fax the info about how much the repair cost is going to be them they will decided if they are going to fix it or total it. Will try to put pictures sometime this week once I can get Gemel setted down, so he can help me. Jim and Gemel cut the tree off of the car and then we brought it back to the house.  We have about 3 dozen  pictures of the car before we started to clean up and afterwards. The only thing visiable of the car is the rear end  everything else was covered up by tree, also power lines were tangled up in the tree where it pulled the lines off of the house. I trully want everybody to know what an awsome GOD we serve the limb was over the house and over my Twin Grandbabies bedroom and God shifted the limb when it fell it fell beside the house away from my babies.

We were lucky I think we were about  the only area in the county that did not lose power some people were out of power for more than 48 hours.

Pete, Jim and I are planning on coming up to Columbus on Sept 18th so we can go hear Gary sing and then go to the Luncheon the next day maybe we can get a group of Roaring Lions to go hear Gary that night, it is just a thought.

We have not had TV since Friday morning so I do not know whos team won but I hope all teams played a good game. I went to town to watch the GA game only because number 91 is a freshman and played for our hometown, Jim got tired so only got to se the first half.

Guess since I can't watch TV I am gonna get off the computer and read awhile.

Hope everyone has a blessed and good week. Love my Baker family.

My granddaughter Elizabeth is receiving an award today from the German University System.  She scored the highest of any American student on the German equivilant of our SAT test.  Some German officials are coming to her old High School to give her the award.  Unfortunately, since she is now a ROTC Cadet at North Georgia State, the Corp of Cadet rules wont allow her to leave at this time to accept the award, so my oldest Daughter Elise and son-in-law John will accept the award for her.

Thanks for the birthday wishes folks. I am now according to the govt. officially OLD. I want discounts and free stuff and a pass to be grumpy. Pete Henry is 30 min. older than me. I am the baby.

We are coming down this weekend and gonna be downtown around noon to hear the BHB play outside for some kind of festival. Just my luck that they start playing at the same time as my first official old guy happy hour starts.

My son gave me and bubba a gift certificate to do the zip line for our birthday. I figure by 1:30 or so I should have found enough courage to let er rip. Bubba says if I go he goes. I think this could be another great moment in Lion history or at least the lead off story on Americas dumbest old farts.

I know I don't post much these days but I love all of my Baker Bums and hope to see some of ya'll Saturday.

Harry.

I broke my self-imposed exile from my villa in Madagascar to join the world of my fellow Lions for the moment just to say..."sumba comolito aganya gooberllito", which is Madagascaran slang for ....

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY HARRY HOLMES...and while you are at it can you pick up a 6 pack of Bud Lite from the local 7-11...."

Now I must return to Koombalita Village, where I am held in high regard as the visiting President of The United States...they don't get much news over here, so I got a pass on this one!

I shall return....just didn't want to miss passing on this birthday wish to my good friend and drinking buddy...HARRY!

We had a great time downtown this past sat. enjoying the BHB and spending some great time with just about everyone I care about in this world. Kinda hot yes but what a fun time. Even as shy as I am I managed to have my picture made with a brand new best friend. I do not recall her name at this time but I think she might be some kind of dance instructor or perhaps a yoga devotee.

For you folks that do face book you can see her and I talking yoga and nuclear particle distrbution while our picture was captured by Ms. C Colson and Larry Martin. Neither of which could agree on this unique ladys occupation. As usual Peter Mailman made some cras remarks concerning her outfit but it was hot as hell downtown and I saw nothing wrong with her attire.

Gotta go now and take a cold shower. Love you all.

Me.

Good Morning all.

Another fantastic day.

"Harry and his new best friend",

Cras comment, is not the proper phrase, and my comment was not about her outfit. But rather the lack of afore mentioned outfit.

I was truely overwhelmed by her "intellect",

honestly everything was fine until she turned around to walk away. And then I realized how stupid I was.Pink Floyd said it best:

"Into the distance a ribbon of black
Stretched to the point of no turning back
A flight of fancy on a windswept field
Standing alone my senses reeled
A fatal attraction holding me fast how
Can I escape this irresistible grasp?

Can't keep my eyes from the circling skies
Tongue tied and twisted just an earth bound misfit ."

Be nice to someone today, and maybe someone will be nice to you.

Going to see Gary at Picassos Pizza on Broadway Sunday, would be nice to get a crowd downthere to listen to Gary play.

Words to live by:

Never under any circumstances take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.

I think your new best friend might be a mechanic..the picture looks like she has a lot of grease or oil on her belly....cant tell for sure...

All kidding aside she was very nice and even bought me a beer when she found out it was my birthday. I decided to keep the bottle.
