What's that old saying?...April showers bring May flowers...

i hope it brings some herbs and peppers and maters!!

One more month to graduation....oh wait, we already did that didnt we.....lol

Who all has someone graduating from high school this year??.....

I have a granddaughter, Elizabeth, who will be graduating on May 20th...and after a trip to Germany she will be attending North Georgia State University on an ROTC scholarship....she wants to be a Linguist for the Army....she started taking German in Jr. High and is fluent in that language but wants to learn a couple more....i may be bias, but i think she can do anything she sets her mind to....

It's May already....the year is going by so fast!  Just found out our third great grandchild is on the way! Ashton and Hanna are expecting Jan 2017!  Two great grandsons already so hope this will be a little girl, but we will be thankful for a healthy baby regardless of the sex.

Pat, so glad to hear you and Mike are attending the reunion! Also, sending prayers for your Dadangel

Prayers going out to all Lions.

Blessings,

Thanks everybody...Elizabeth is gonna do great, i just know it....but it still feels strange since i will always remember her as that little girl of about 2 or 3 years old, dancing around our living room to some music on a TV kids show....

Good news about your Daddy PAT...hope he continues to get better

Congrats Lucille!!...we aint had a baby in our family in 9 years...seems so long ago

I was just thinking about this the other day...do all expectant parents nowadays want to know if they are having a boy or a girl?...seems like to me everybody knows well before the baby is born....member we didnt find out until it was born.....which is better? and why?.....or does it make that much difference

Hello Bakerville

Condolences to the Powell Family for the loss of their beloved Dad. Praying for ya'll!

Terry...Thinking of you & your family at this time of loss.  Prayers going up.

Seems like a lot of our Baker family is experiencing the loss of loved ones.  In the midst of this, my family, the Livingston's are feeling blessed that our Daddy is still with us tonight.  Yesterday again, his defibrillator saved him.  It shocked him not once but twice--back to back. He is stable tonight in the hospital as they work to get his heart rate back in a normal rhythm.  Prayers would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Baker,

Just checking in. Saying hello, etc.

Spent December thru early March in Tucson, AZ. First time we have been able to be "snowbirds" (from NJ) now that I am retired from 39 years of teaching.

For her Mother's Day gift, I took Linda to Branson, MO for a week to see several shows / concerts. We saw Osmond Brothers, the Lettermen, SIX, Charlie Green, illusionist Rick Thomas, and comedian Chipper Lowell. Just got back this past Sunday.

After their Friday evening concert, Lettermen founder Tony Butala invited six of us to join him for drinks at the lounge in his hotel (next to Moon River Theater). We chatted for about two hours and broke things up shortly after midnight. [Photo below]

See ya'll later. And Facebook, of course. BHS rules!

Welp, its graduation time again and i get to be the proud Granddaddy again this year..Elizabeth Anne Kimbell, (my oldest daughter's, oldest daughter) will be graduating high school tonight in Fayetteville, Georgia.  So proud of that girl...she will be leaving on a summer trip to Germany after graduation to visit her friend and fellow Exchange student who lived and went to school with her last year.  Elizabeth took German in school for 5 years starting in the 8th grade.  She will be attending North Georgia State this fall on an ROTC scholarship and will be a member of the Corp of Cadets.  She wants to be a linguist but plans to learn another language while in college.

Congratulations to Elizabeth

as far as it goes with my Grandkids...thats 3 down and 5 to go....

I still remember the Class of 1969 graduation and standing in the back of that long line with my ol', "we are always last" buddies, Wanda Wood and Marsha Zebreski....Wanda and I were in the same class from the start of elementary school till graduation...now that was pretty cool.

Hello Bakerville!

Just making it through an ever so crazy week with what I hope will be a quiet, restful & uneventful weekend. Got some wine calling my name but I'm sort of afraid to answer...never know when the next crisis will arise.  It's just been that kind of week! Feeling very blessed & so thankful that all those I love survived it!

Hope all my Baker family are doing well! Let's continue to pray for each other!

Pat

Hello to my Baker family and thanks to those of you who reached out as we mourned the loss of Dad Major Retired Willis L Powell.

Cindy, Lance, Berti, Carolyn, Bill....hearfelt thanks for coming to visitation Thursday night.

If any of you came Friday to the chapel service, I do not remember a thing past about 10am that morning until about 10 that night.  I suffered what is called Transient Global Amnesia (TGA) and totally blocked the day.  My boys and sister Lisa could tell I was not myself at the service when I could not remember something I was told 15 seconds before and kept asking the same questions.

My sweet boys had to keep breaking the news of why I was there over and over and it was hard for them to see me receive the news as if it were the first time I'd heard it.  At the luncheon after the service, they decided to take me to the ER at St. Francis and a battery of CT scans, MRIs, lab tests, ECG, etc. were performed to rule out anything bad like a stroke or heart attack.  All test results were great and the TGA diagnosis was made and I was admitted for observation.

Around 10 or so that night, I came around but to present there are NO memories of what transpired all those hours. I am okay with that and while the boys, Lisa and I missed the gravesite service, we will make a trip when we can.

Thanks again, dear classmates to all of you who reached out with calls, FB posts, etc.  We love you Lions dearly.
