A poem I wrote about war

WAR AND, UH, WHAT?

War is always with us, and what does it give us

From Cain and Able Gate to the latest news update

From clocked with a rock to blown by a drone

From bow and arrow to polonium in marrow

From tomahawk to Tomahawk missile

From bone and gristle to Titan whistle

From tortured on the rack to died in Iraq

There is a disease in man to scheme and plan

And to think he can win, so why not begin

To roll the dice without thinking twice

To hear the screams and canceled dreams

An end of flowers and healing powers

Of days in the park to a nuclear dark

So why do we do it, what is our intuit

When will we learn that we don’t have to burn

That we will all have peace if we just-- cease.
