Mary R. Jenkins Mills

Mary J. Mills, a true angel here on earth was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 4, 2021. This earth we call home for now will never be the same.
She was born on December 29, 1933 in Columbus, Georgia and was raised during an era in which you learned the value of family and being grateful for what God had provided. Mary was a true source of love, graciousness, and more love. Her presence here will be forever missed by all who were fortunate to be touched in one way or another.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys Jenkins and Charles H. Jenkins; her brothers: Theo Willis Jenkins, his wife Ruth and Charles Hampton Jenkins, Jr., his wife, Dora; her sisters: Esther Jenkins Slocumb, her husband Willie Gerue, and Betty Jenkins Grimes,her husband, Gene; her mother-in-law, Eunice Mills, her sister-in-law, Glenda Sue Wells and her husband Billy; her nephews, William Lester Jenkins, Douglas Richard Slocumb, and Charles Longwood.
She leaves her legacy to be cherished by her husband of 65 years, James Marvin Mills; her nieces and nephews: Elizabeth Jenkins Landrum, Robert Andrew Jenkins, Joseph Wayne Slocumb, Carole Slocumb Longwood, Judith Slocumb Hafner, Linda Slocumb March (Randy), Rhonda Slocumb (Douglas' wife), William Eugene Grimes (Ruth), Charles Brent Grimes, Sr. (Laura), Stuart Lee Wells, Cecilia Allie Mills-Wells, and Stuart Lee Mills-Wells.
Family will visit with friends on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in the St. Elmo Room from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 3:00 PM in the Edgewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby, Columbus, Georgia with Reverend Dr. Tim Jones and Reverend Mark Sasser officiating. Burial will be in Parkhill Cemetery.
