Columbus, Georgia

Nicholas David Haick, Jr., 79, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023 in Columbus, GA. Born May 14, 1944 in Niagara Falls, New York. He was the son of the late Nicholas David Sr. and Helen Mary (Ashker) Haick.

Active member of Holy Family Catholic Church where he served as an usher and security guard. He always served where needed. Very active with Baker High School reunion and functions. Nick considered everyone his friend- a very people person. He was well loved by everyone that knew him. Nick was a proud US Navy veteran and was very patriotic and loved our country. An avid Georgia Bulldogs football fan and loved to dance. He turned to the Lord and had a personal relationship with Jesus. He will be deeply missed by all.

Survivors include his daughters, Natalie Helen (Chris) Jackson, Hollie Gail (Matthew) Mokry; his siblings, James David (Gail) Haick, Patti Haick (Van) Neese; his seven grandchildren, a niece, five nephews and three great-nephews. In addition to his parents, Nick was preceded in death by his son, Nicky Robert Haick and his sister, Mary Ann Haick Collins.

Christian Burial Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church, 320 12th Street, Columbus, GA 31901 on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Family will have visitation and rosary with friends at church one hour prior to mass, 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to be made in Nick’s memory to Holy Family Catholic Church.

Update: Service for Nick Haick will be Monday 23rd of October. Grave side service at Fort Mitchell,Al 11:00 am. Please plan to be there at 10:45 to find the site.

I will miss Nick's smile and friendship.  It is a terrible loss for all of us Bakerites and of course his familly.

REST IN PEACE NICK!!  YOUR SMILING FACE WILL BE MISSED AT THE BHS LUNCHEONS AND DANCES AROUND TOWN!!  I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER MEETING YOU AT MY FIRST GOLDEN CORRAL LUNCHEON 10 YEARS AGO!!
