Comments:

Graduated 1974 Emory University, Atlanta (BA Philosophy).
Work with a consulting firm which deals with physicians and medical organizations around the world, with the focus of developing a vaccine for the HIV virus. I am thrilled to be part of this important and meaningful quest and find it very rewarding.
Managed numerous retail bookstore businesses; buyer for independent bookstores; publisher's representative for academic consortium.
Moved to Portland, Oregon in 1987; human resources manager for Borders Books; membership representative for non-profit radio station (KBPS All Classical 89.9)

Performed and toured as soloist with the Atlanta Schola Cantorum during the 80's (Renaissance, Medieval, and American Sacred Harp repertoire)
Avid music collector and recording enthusiast, audiophile and electronics expert.
Arts editor for Emory University newspaper during attendance there.
Alternative newspaper features writer (book reviewer) off and on during the last twenty years.
State champion darts competitor during the 90's(my kind of sport: actually encourages drinking!)
"Came out" in my early twenties (the last to know, evidently!) With progressive legislation finally permitting gay marriages, I'm feeling the pressure to "settle down." We'll see...

School Story:

I was the classic four-eyed nerd throughout, and really didn't hit my stride until the last two years. Letting my hair grow out and slouching in the now-classic hippie fashion actually was an improvement for me and hid a multitude of sins. (Although, looking at pics from that time, I am surprised how little I resemble my memory's take on appearances).
Debate team was my favorite activity and granted a degree of social cache I had not known before. I value that time, along with my friendships with other debaters and forensics geeks. One of the most eccentric people I ever knew was our debate coach, Mrs. Mansfield. Truly demented, and I mean that in a good way (I think).
Through facebook I am glad to have reconnected, and connected for the first time with old chums.
