Arthur David “Dave” Barrow, 78, of Wrens Hwy., Thomson, GA and formerly of Watkinsville, GA entered into rest April 01, 2018.

Dave was born in Baltimore, MD to the late Edward Arthur Barrow and the late Elizabeth Virginia Price Barrow. He grew up in Columbus, Georgia and graduated from Baker High School. Following high school he proudly served his country in the U. S. Air Force and was stationed in Turkey. Dave retired as a supervisor with the State of Georgia Industrial Loan Department with over 30 years of service. He worked as a consultant and taught continuing education classes for state insurance licenses. He touched many lives coaching Senior League Baseball in Oconee County and won several championships. He also enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, collecting antique automobiles and small trains. Cooking low country boil was one of his favorite things to do for family, friends, church groups and other organizations that he loved. He was active for many years in the Lion’s Club and was a member of Thomson First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Barrow; daughters, Beth Barrow Bridges (Ben) of Watkinsville, GA; Rebecca Barrow Whitaker of Lawrenceville, GA; sister, Sharon Dickens (Dick) of Eatonton, GA; grandchildren, Bryce David Barrow, Victoria K. Whitaker and Wade Anthony Whitaker.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Thomson First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ronny Brannen officiating. A graveside service will follow at 4:00 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Park in Athens, GA with Rev. Jane Hull officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 in the fellowship area at the church.

Beggs Funeral Home, 799 Cobbham Rd., Thomson, GA is in charge of arrangements.

Our sympathy to the Barrow family.  David was so deciated to Baker Alumni.  He will be truly missed.
