So sorry to hear of Gene's passing! Please know that you are in my prayers. May the Lord comfort you & give you peace during this very difficult time. God Bless You!
I'll miss my friend. Gene was even my roommate for a while after his return from VietNam. He had a life of service including a career in firefighting in the Orlando area.
Very sad to hear of Gene's passing. Gene was one of "the good guys" and I am sure everyone will agree. I still have a memory of standing out in the hallway between classes and me and Gene and a couple of others were joking and laughing. Gene had those long bangs and he was constantly brushing his bangs back. Coach Roberts came walking by and he stops and says..."Mr. Brewer your hair is a mess, you need a haircut." Gene looks at Coach Roberts and says, "Coach you really think its that bad?" And Coach Roberts says, "It was bad a month ago, its a mess now." Needless to say, old Gene got a ribbing about that for a while. Rest In Peace my old friend.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the Brewer family... I am saddened to lose one of our classmates 🙏 Gene was a very quiet and gentle soul...Rest in Peace🙏 Cheryl Pennington Hancock class of ‘69
