George H. Gordon, 75, of Columbus, GA died Sunday, July 31, 2022 at Piedmont Midtown.
A memorial service will be held at a later date according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
George was born April 15, 1947 to the late Cecil Gordon and Mamie Polk Gordon. He worked in Ft. Benning as a Firefighter for 23 years before retiring as a Sergeant. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church, enjoyed Alabama football, going fishing but most of all loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 51years, Jo Ann Fletcher Gordon, sons, Jeremy Gordon (Kimberly) of Columbus, GA, Jason Gordon (Gretha) of Pensacola, FL, brother, Dr. Rev. Barry Gordon (Debbie) of Spring Hill, FL, grandchildren, Jackson Gordon, Jacob Gordon, Emma Grace Gordon, several nieces, nephews and other family members.

I sure hated to hear of George's passing. We have been friends since Elementary School at Muscogee. He attended the Baker functions at Cook's Hot Dogs. I have a photo of George, Kenny Caldwell, Ronnie Chambers, Ronnie Brown, Alan Caldwell (Kenny's son) and myself. It will be a treasure that I will keep forever. RIP my old friend.
